Overview

Overview

This elective is designed to introduce students to the language and culture of the German-speaking peoples.  The focus will be on beginning German language skills (alphabet, numbers, colors, basic greetings, ordering in a restaurant, asking directions, telling time, etc.)  A great deal of emphasis will be placed on the cultures of German-speaking countries: Germany, Austria, and Switzerland.  This will include the arts, history, traditions, customs, and, of course, the foods.  Students will be required to keep a notebook and prepare a final presentation on an approved topic of their choice.  (This class does not provide any foreign language credit.)
