Course Description

Crew is a hands-on elective opportunity open only to a select group of responsible students.  Under the direction of either Principal Bruce Herring or Dean Dave Peterson, the crew takes on a number of important tasks and projects around the campus.  After receiving a task, the crew is simply expected to stay on it without constant supervision.  In fact, we might only check up on our crew once or twice during the entire period.  This is a great way for students to accumulate community service hours in a very meaningful way.  Crewmembers are assisting with the ongoing transition of old warehouses into a functional, clean, and safe campus; one that will eventually become a community showcase of sustainable building practices.

Current and upcoming crew tasks include but are not limited to:

Library Setup
Campus clean up and organization for the Brain Buster
The completion of texture, paint, and trim in the office
Krista’s corner
Other small building, painting, or maintenance projects
Clerical and office assistance
Beginning stages of implementation of the landscape plan
Trips to the dump and our storage shed
Who knows what else
